El Centro de Bienestar Estudiantil Acompaña con Cariño el Programa “Inglés para Chía”

Desde el Centro de Bienestar Estudiantil del Colegio Rochester nos complace compartir con ustedes que estamos apoyando activamente el programa “Inglés para Chía”, una hermosa iniciativa de la Fundación Educativa Rochester que busca fortalecer el aprendizaje del inglés como una herramienta clave para el desarrollo académico, social y emocional de los estudiantes de la Institución Educativa Oficial Fonquetá que hacen parte del programa. Para nosotros, es fundamental acompañar de manera integral a los niños y niñas en su proceso de aprendizaje, brindándoles herramientas que los fortalezcan en todas sus dimensiones, como un valor agregado del programa.

En este marco, a través del Programa de Desarrollo y Aprendizaje, hemos venido trabajando actividades de Desarrollo Visual Integrado, diseñadas especialmente para apoyar el desarrollo integral de los niños vinculados. Estas actividades son lideradas con dedicación y cariño por nuestras especialistas Manuela Sierra, Jimena Hincapié y Catalina Neira, quienes acompañan a los estudiantes de manera grupal, promoviendo su desempeño visual, motriz y comunicativo en todos los ámbitos de su formación.

Los talleres que desarrollamos buscan fortalecer habilidades como la percepción visual, la atención, la memoria visual y la coordinación visomotora, entre otras. Estas capacidades son fundamentales en el aprendizaje de una segunda lengua, especialmente en edades tempranas, ya que hacen parte de los procesos de neurodesarrollo que sostienen el aprendizaje global.

Facilitan, por ejemplo, el reconocimiento de letras, palabras, imágenes y estructuras gramaticales. Cuando los estudiantes pueden ver, asociar, manipular y recordar información visual, no solo comprenden mejor el contenido, sino que lo interiorizan de forma más profunda y significativa. Por ello, fortalecer estas habilidades no solo favorece su aprendizaje del inglés, sino que enriquece todos los aspectos de su desarrollo escolar.

Los estudiantes de la I.E.O. Fonquetá han disfrutado con alegría de estas actividades. Las reciben con entusiasmo, curiosidad y mucha participación, y ya estamos viendo cómo este proceso impacta de manera positiva en su desarrollo.

The Student Wellness Center supports with affection the “English for Chia” program

From the Student Wellness Center at Rochester School we are pleased to share with you that we are actively supporting the “English for Chía” program, a beautiful initiative of the Rochester Educational Foundation that seeks to strengthen the learning of English as a key tool for the academic, social and emotional development of the students of the Fonquetá Official Educational Institution. For us, it is essential to comprehensively accompany the children in their learning process, providing them with tools that strengthen them in all its dimensions, as an added value of the program.

In this context, through the Development and Learning Program, we have been working on Developmental Visual Learning activities, specially designed to support the integral development of the children involved. These activities are led with dedication and affection by our specialists Manuela Sierra, Jimena Hincapié and Catalina Neira, who accompany the students as a group, promoting their visual, motor and communicative performance in all areas of their education.

The workshops we develop seek to strengthen skills such as visual perception, attention, visual memory and visual-motor coordination, among others. These abilities are fundamental in the learning of a second language, especially at early ages, as they are part of the neurodevelopmental processes that support global learning.

They facilitate, for example, the recognition of letters, words, images and grammatical structures. When students can see, associate, manipulate and remember visual information, they not only understand the content better, but also internalize it in a deeper and more meaningful way. Therefore, strengthening these skills not only enhances their learning of English, but enriches all aspects of their school development.

The students of I.E.O. Fonquetá have happily enjoyed these activities. They receive them with enthusiasm, curiosity and a lot of participation, and we are already seeing how this process positively impacts their development.

We are deeply grateful to our specialists for their commitment and vocation, and we celebrate that from DVL (Developmental Visual Learning) we continue sowing learning that leaves a mark!
