In Middle Ages, this week the 8th Grade students will be working on creating a presentation in groups based on the Enlightenment. The students have been introduced to the ideas that form the basis of Western civilization. Working cooperatively, each group will be creating a presentation based on a key figure of the Enlightenment and will teach that philosophers idea to the rest of the class. Students will be able to ask questions and give their own thoughts into the ideas and how they relate to the world today. With the presidential elections fast approaching, this activity will give our students insight into the foundations of Western democracy and why it is important that we play an active role in forging the future of the country.

Resumen: En Edad Media, esta semana los alumnos de 7º Grado trabajarán en la creación de una presentación en grupos basada en la Ilustración. Los alumnos han sido introducidos a las ideas que forman la base de la civilización occidental. Trabajando en cooperación, cada grupo creará una presentación basada en una figura clave de la Ilustración y enseñará la idea de ese filósofo al resto de la clase. Los alumnos podrán hacer preguntas y exponer sus propias reflexiones sobre las ideas y su relación con el mundo actual. Ahora que se acercan las elecciones presidenciales, esta actividad permitirá a nuestros alumnos comprender los fundamentos de la democracia occidental y por qué es importante que desempeñemos un papel activo en la forja del futuro del paÃ
