En la clase de Artes Visuales los estudiantes de Segundo Grado escogieron una especie de fauna perteneciente a la región andina central y la dibujaron en 1/4 de cartón (paja o cartón-cartulina) utilizando sólo líneas sueltas, aprendiendo el método de figuras geométricas para darle proporción a los animales.
Después vimos el método para utilizar la lana con pegamento y así poder reteñir las lineas hechas con lápiz, usando luego las lanas y complementando el color con acuarelas. Jugaron de manera creativa con los matices para lograr distintos degrades, al pegar una línea de lana al lado de la otra. ¡Finalmente, lograron la ilustración a todo color, en la que se evidenció el hábitat y la especie escogida en intensos colores!
Esta técnica se llama “estambre” y es originaria de la comunidad indígena Wixárika, que se encuentra desde tiempos prehispánicos en el territorio que hoy conocemos como México.

In the Visual Arts class, Third Graders chose a species of fauna from the central Andean region and drew it on 1/4 of cardboard (straw or cardboard-cardboard) using only loose lines, learning the method of geometric figures to give proportion to the animals.
Subsequently, we covered the method of using the wool with glue to re-dye the lines made with pencil, to use later the wool, complementing the color with watercolors. They played creatively with the different shades to achieve different gradations by gluing one line of wool next to the other. Finally, they achieved the full-color illustration, where the habitat and the chosen species were evidenced in intense colors!
This technique is called "estambre" and is native to the Wixárika indigenous community, which has been present since pre-Hispanic times in the territory we know today as Mexico.
