El Modelo de Naciones Unidas del Colegio Rochester (RMUNXX) se inauguró con un momento inolvidable: la visita del expresidente de Colombia y exalumno Rochesteriano, Iván Duque, quien compartió con nuestros estudiantes una reflexión profunda sobre el liderazgo y la responsabilidad global.
Durante su intervención, Duque resaltó la importancia de los valores estoicos en la construcción de una sociedad justa y sostenible: coraje, templanza, sabiduría y justicia. Subrayó que el liderazgo auténtico no solo se mide por los logros alcanzados, sino por la capacidad de actuar con integridad y compromiso con el futuro del planeta.
"No neguemos la crisis climática, enfrentémosla juntos", fue uno de los mensajes más impactantes de su discurso, incentivando a nuestros estudiantes a asumir un papel activo en la solución de los desafíos globales.
En el Colegio Rochester, fomentamos un espíritu de liderazgo basado en la conciencia social y ambiental. La participación de nuestros estudiantes en RMUNXX es una muestra de su capacidad para analizar, debatir y proponer soluciones innovadoras a problemas globales, reforzando así el ADN Rochesteriano de impacto y transformación.

Leadership with Purpose: RMUNXX and the inspiration of a presidential alumnus

The Rochester School Model United Nations (RMUNXX) was inaugurated with an unforgettable moment: the visit of the former president of Colombia and Rochesterian alumnus, Iván Duque, who shared with our students a profound reflection on leadership and global responsibility.
During his speech, Duque highlighted the importance of stoic values in building a just and sustainable society: courage, temperance, wisdom and justice. He stressed that authentic leadership is not only measured by achievements, but by the ability to act with integrity and commitment to the future of the planet.
“Let's not deny the climate crisis, let's face it together,” was one of the most powerful messages of his speech, encouraging our students to take an active role in solving global challenges.
At Rochester School, we foster a spirit of leadership based on social and environmental awareness. Our students' participation in RMUNXX is a demonstration of their ability to analyze, debate and propose innovative solutions to global problems, thus reinforcing the Rochesterian DNA of impact and transformation.
We thank Iván Duque for inspiring us and reaffirming that our students are called to lead with purpose. The future is in their hands and in their voice!
