In Middle Ages the 7th grade students are working on learning about the Crusades and how they started. Students look at different reasons why knights from Europe decided to join the crusades even though they were very dangerous and brought very little individual rewards. The product that the students made was an advertisement/poster that invited knights to join the crusades and the spiritual rewards that they will be given as a result.
In World history the 8th grade students have started to learn about the contributing factor to World War 1 starting with Nationalism. Students explored the concept of Nationalism, how it was used in Europe and its effects. Students also discussed Nationalism in Colombia and how they experience support and pride for their country. This section of our curriculum is closely linked with being a global citizen as well as the idea of intercultural learning and its necessity in an increasingly global world.

En la Edad Media, los estudiantes de 7mo están trabajando en aprender sobre las Cruzadas y cómo comenzaron. Los estudiantes examinan diferentes razones por las que los caballeros de Europa decidieron unirse a las cruzadas a pesar de que eran muy peligrosas y traían muy pocas recompensas individuales. El producto que los estudiantes crearon fue un anuncio/cartel que invitaba a los caballeros a unirse a las cruzadas y las recompensas espirituales que recibirían como resultado.
En historia mundial, los estudiantes de 8vo han comenzado a aprender sobre el factor contribuyente al inicio de la Primera Guerra Mundial, comenzando con el Nacionalismo. Los estudiantes exploraron el concepto de Nacionalismo, cómo se utilizó en Europa y sus efectos. Los estudiantes también discutieron el Nacionalismo en Colombia y cómo experimentan el apoyo y el orgullo por su país. Esta sección de nuestro plan de estudios está estrechamente vinculada con ser un ciudadano global, así como con la idea de aprendizaje intercultural y su necesidad en un mundo cada vez más global.
