In music class, the second graders are working on their instrumental skills by being part of an Orff instrumental ensemble. This semester's repertoire will be totally focused on Latin American and Andean music, for this reason, we begin with the song “María Moñito”, to the rhythm of Guabina from the Colombian Andean region.
At the same time, who know about the Andean cultural traditions and rhythms, they manage to musically recognize the structural form of a song, this being the most musically ambitious challenge so far for them, where not only new sung formal structures are combined, as is the canon (song with different entries), but also three concordant instrumental sections: the xylophones (wood’s orff instruments), the metallophones (metal’s orff instruments) and the percussion.

Ritmos de los Andes: los alumnos de segundo grado se sumergen en la música latinoamericana

En la clase de música, los estudiantes de primer grado están trabajando en sus habilidades instrumentales haciendo parte de un ensamble instrumental Orff. El repertorio de este semestre será totalmente enfocado a la música latinoamericana y andina, por esta razón, comenzamos con la canción “María Moñito”, al ritmo de Guabina de la región andina colombiana.
Al mismo tiempo, que conocen sobre las tradiciones y ritmos culturales andinos, logran reconocer musicalmente la forma estructural de una canción, siendo esta el reto más ambicioso musicalmente hasta el momento para ellos, donde se combinan no solo nuevas estructuras formales cantadas, como lo es el canon (canción con diferentes entradas), sino también tres secciones instrumentales concordantes: las maderas, los metales y la percusión.
