In the Visual Arts class, I want to highlight the work led by Oriana Martínez Bobadilla from seventh grade, as a team with Tomás Contreras from the same grade. The theme of the work is “mobile sculpture” inspired by the work of Alexander Calder integrated with the art of weaving in the Andean cultures of Latin America. The first challenge was to achieve a design understanding the concept of “mobile sculpture” (light, hanging and empty) then take that design to the third dimension by creating a stable structure with wooden sticks covered with cold porcelain. The last step was to design a composition with colored wool on the structure, thinking about the combination and interwoven games that can be achieved on the different sides of it.
All the students assembled the mobile sculptures on the main stairs of Block 6 that connect the 2nd and 3rd floors, where they are still mounted.
Oriana stood out in the high quality she achieved from the symmetrical and resistant structure she achieved, in the leadership of her work team made up of Tomás Contreras, in the hard work she did with the wool, which even involved extracurricular volunteer work. Congratulations Oriana!

En la clase de Artes Visuales quiero resaltar el trabajo liderado por Oriana Martínez Bobadilla de sexto grado en equipo con Tomás Contreras del mismo grado. La temática del trabajo es la “escultura móvil” inspirada en la obra de Alexander Calder integradas al arte de los tejidos en las culturas andinas de Latinoamérica. El primer reto consistió en lograr un diseño entendiendo el concepto de “escultura móvil” (livianas, colgantes y vacías) después llevar ese diseño a la tercera dimensión realizando una estructura estable con palitos de madera recubiertos con porcelana fría. El último paso era diseñar una composición con lanas de colores sobre la estructura, pensando en la combinación y los juegos entretejidos que se pueden lograr en las diferentes caras del mismo.
Entre todos los estudiantes montamos las esculturas móviles en las escaleras principales del Bloque 6 que conectan el 2.º con el 3.er piso, donde aún están montadas.
Oriana se destacó en la alta calidad que logró, desde la estructura simétrica y resistente que logró, en el liderazgo de su equipo de trabajo conformado por Tomás Contreras, en el arduo trabajo que realizó con las lanas, que inclusive implicó trabajo voluntario extracurricular. ¡Felicitaciones Oriana!
